I could not be prouder of my daughter, Karina, who launched Karina J Denim this weekend after three years of design, development, and persistence.
While working at Microsoft (where jeans were part of the everyday dress code), she found that women’s jeans, regardless of price, often became uncomfortable after only a few hours of wear. After trying countless options, she decided to see whether she could create something better.
I have watched her spend long evenings and weekends evaluating denim fabrics, working with her designer, and going through prototype after prototype with her manufacturer. There were setbacks, difficult decisions, and many moments when the easier choice would have been to stop. She kept going.
This weekend, the first Karina J jeans began shipping. More than 150 women had placed pre-orders, trusting a brand-new company and buying a product they had never worn beyond a 15-minute try-on of a prototype. Hearing that these customers found the jeans comfortable—and that some even ordered additional pairs after receiving their first—has meant a great deal to all of us.
Karina, I know how much of yourself you have put into this. Seeing something that began as a personal frustration become a product women genuinely enjoy is very special. Congratulations. I am incredibly proud of you. Go Karina and Karina J Denim! https://karinajdenim.com/
